Securly Classroom Setup Instructions
To help you make the most of this valuable resource, I highly recommend watching the short and informative training videos that are available on Securly's training dashboard. These videos are designed to help you manage your classroom effectively, and they provide real-life examples that make the training engaging and easy to follow. Each video is approximately 6-8 minutes long, and you can access them by creating an account on the Securly training dashboard using your DASD email. Please note that you cannot sign in with the Google integration option, and you need to create an account manually, we recommend using your district email for this account creation. Once you have created an account and logged in, you’ll select “Classroom,” which will be one of the very large pictures. If you log in and it loads to your account page, you will want to navigate to the top left corner of the website and select the “All Products” link, which may blend into the blue banner. Once the “All Products” page loads, click on the topic called “Classroom.” Next, you select “Classroom Teacher.” You will be greeted with 18 videos that will help you through Securly Classroom. To get started managing your classroom, log in to Classlink and navigate to the “Securly Classroom” icon. Click on the link, and it will take you to the Securly Classroom website and sign you in. If Securly asks you to sign in, please select the Google Sign-in option and continue to sign into Securly with your district email and password. Once logged in, you will be directed to the Classroom Management page. This page will show you all your classes, including your student count and teacher count per class. We have many different resources to offer to help you navigate through this program. I would start by viewing the videos that Securly has made by creating an account and following the directions in the paragraph above. We also offer resources created by the Technology Innovator team on this topic, and you will be able to access that through the Tech Tuesday Blogs on our district website here. You will need to sign in to the staff hub to view these resources. One thing to note is that Securly sends several notification emails by default. To customize your notification settings, follow these steps: Go to Classlink and navigate to the Securly Classroom icon. You should be able to seamlessly sign in, if you have trouble logging in, please use the Google Authentication method to sign in with your district credentials. After you have successfully signed in, ensure you are in the classroom view, and if you don't see your classes, click "Switch to Classroom." In the top right, select the avatar of a person with a downward-facing triangle and choose "My account." Under the Notifications Section, uncheck the boxes as you see fit, one that we have seen teachers uncheck is the "Class session summary" that triggers the emails to be sent. Click "Save."
